The quarterly GDP data for the period 2001Q1–2013Q4, including both the headline GDP estimates and the three components.
Description
To assess the quality of China’s preliminary data of the quarterly GDP, we examine the unbiasedness and efficiency of the preliminary data of the headline GDP and the three components. We modify the tests for unbiasedness and efficiency by incorporating the Fourier approximation to capture the effect of the state of the economy.
