Studies in Climate

Listed in National Center for Atmospheric Research

The Climate Project at the National Center for Atmospheric Research held a symposium on analysis and modeling of climate on large spatial scales from 29 November to 2 December 1983 with K. E. Trenberth as chairman.

Description

Fourteen of the fifteen papers presented at the symposium appear in this volume. They have not been formally reviewed, so they appear as delivered by the authors.

Barnett; Sensitivity of January Climate Response to the Position of Pacific Sea Surface Temperature Anomalies by Maurice L. Blackmon; The Global Distribution of the Annual and Semi-Annual Cycles of Outgoing Long-wave Radiation and 250 mb u-component Winds by J.E. Kutzbach and K.M. Weickmann; The frequency dependence of the structure and evolution of geopotential height fluctuations appearing in a GFDL general circulation model by Ngar-Cheung Lau; Potential for Long-Range Predictability of Northern Hemisphere Temperatures by Roland A.
