A dataset of water transparency of Sanya River based on Sentinel-2 data during 2019-2021

Based on the surface reflectance data of Sentinel 2 on the GEE cloud computing platform and Google cloud storage, the transparency of the Sanya River time series from 2019 to 2021 is retrieved using the semi analytical transparency model based on QAAv6. For the dynamic extraction of Sanya River water body, the algorithm combining normalized water body index NDWI and OTUS automatic threshold segmentation is used to extract the small river water body.

The data is stored in GeoTiff grid format, and pixel transparency value and coordinate information are saved at the same time, which is convenient for relevant GIS software to read and analyze. Inversion of long time series transparency of water body based on GEE cloud database has the advantage of high efficiency and speed. This data set can provide important scientific basis for water quality monitoring, water pollution control and water ecological protection in Sanya.
