A 30 m Monthly Glacier Surface Velocity Dataset for the Kangri Karpo Region, Southeastern Tibetan Plateau, 2015–2024

The dataset was generated by integrating multi-source remote sensing observations, including Landsat 8/9 OLI, Sentinel-1 IW GRD, Sentinel-2 MSI, and UAV-derived reference velocity fields. Optical glacier velocities were extracted using image cross-correlation, Sentinel-1 velocities were derived using offset tracking, and the multi-source products were fused using a constrained weighted least-squares framework calibrated with UAV-derived velocities.

A Sentinel-1-guided local enhancement-factor method was further applied to improve the spatial completeness of the monthly velocity fields.The final product consists of 120 monthly glacier surface velocity maps at 30 m spatial resolution. Velocity values are expressed in m yr⁻¹. The dataset is intended to support studies of glacier dynamics, seasonal and interannual velocity variability, remote-sensing-based glacier monitoring, and climate-related cryospheric change in maritime glacier regions of the southeastern Tibetan Plateau.
