<p>The spiking model, stimulated by synaptic input that encodes osmotic pressure, drives the synthesis model through its Ca<sup>2+</sup> variable <i>C</i>.
Description
This regulates the transcription rate <i>T</i> which increases the store of vasopressin mRNA <i>m</i>. The synthesis rate <i>s</i> is proportional to <i>m</i> using a fixed translation rate, and also depletes <i>m</i>.
The ghosted link showing activity-dependent regulation of translation was not used in the results here. The synthesis model is coupled to the secretion model through the charging of its reserve store <i>r</i>.</p>
