Research Dataset on Recursive Verification Logic in China’s Higher Education Digitalisation Governance: Policy Documents, Documentary Relationships, and Provision-Level Adjudication Data (2012–2026)

Listed in ScienceDB

This dataset supports a mechanism-oriented documentary study of Recursive Verification Logic (RVL) in the governance of higher education digitalisation in China.

Description

The corpus covers the period from 2012 to 2026 and comprises 82 national, Henan provincial, and university-level policy and institutional documents, including materials from Zhengzhou University and Anyang Institute of Technology. The deposited materials include archival copies of the 82 source documents, a complete corpus register, a classification register of 107 documentary relationships, 79 eligible provision-level verification sequences, a source audit of 316 evidence-anchor cells, a re-adjudication log, a data dictionary, quality-assurance records, and reproducibility materials.Documents are treated as source units, while substantively comparable provisions constitute the units of inference.

Each eligible sequence is adjudicated across three analytically separable components of RVL: C1, Verification Translation, which concerns the conversion, retention, or further specification of weakly observable educational goals into institutionally authorised forms of proof; C2, Proof Responsibility, which concerns the organisational allocation of responsibility for producing, validating, maintaining, aggregating, or transmitting authorised evidence; and C3, Recursive Re-entry, which concerns whether proof products themselves become formal inputs into subsequent evaluation, remediation, planning, responsibility tracking, resource allocation, or renewed evidentiary specification. The final locked analytical funnel is: 82 documents → 107 mapped documentary relationships → 49 R1/R2 candidate relationships → 48 relationships yielding eligible provision-level comparison → 79 eligible sequences.

Final component adjudication is C1: 53 Support and 26 Qualify; C2: 73 Support and 6 Qualify; and C3: 21 Support, 46 Qualify, and 12 Not testable because of insufficient observational opportunity. All 316 evidence-anchor cells were re-audited against primary sources, with no unresolved items remaining. The dataset is intended to enhance transparency, traceability, and reproducibility in qualitative policy research. The deposited source documents and structured research data are linked through a common Document ID system, enabling users to trace relationships among source texts, policy succession, provision-level evidence, and mechanism adjudication.

The dataset primarily documents formal institutional arrangements and should not be interpreted as direct evidence of realised teacher behaviour, professional judgement, workload, educational quality, or other actor-level effects.
