Replication data for Fig 15.17, WTPDs, Duration of CUCs and CACs, 22 May 2026

Listed in data.InDoRES

Description

I created this file by merging EXCEL file = WTPDS, UC times, 05 Oct 2020 and EXCEL FILE = WTPDs, Above cops started by Jessica, 13 Oct 2020 In this file CUC (<=4) or CAC (5) = 1 = CUC of 1st copping male, 2 = CUC of 2nd copping male, 3 = CUC of 3rd copping male, 4 = CUC of 4th copping male, and 5 = CAC CUC = Critical UNDERGROUND Consortship, when insemination probably occurred CAC = Critical ABOVEGROUND COPULATION, when insemination probably occurred Note that one WTPD female (5SBS in 2008) had TWO CACS On 28 October I change CUC time for WTPD fem-76 (H8) from 20 to 9

CUCs designated by numbers 1, 2, 3, or 4 in Column-B = CUC (<=4) or CAC (5)

Note

CACs designated by number 5 in Column-B = CUC (<=4) or CAC (5) Repeat: All data for CACs are designated by number-5 in Column-B And all data for CUCs are designated by numbers 1 through 4 of Column-B These data used for Fig 15.17 in Hoogland 2026. This file ready for longterm storage on 20 March 2025. All times in MINUTES

Note

No eartag or Nyanzol marker of WTPD females in this file All WTPD data from single study-colony at Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge near Walden, Colorado Blank cell = missing data Each line in this file contains information from a single prairie dog female For polyandrous females, however, a single female had more than one line of data For polyandrous females, data for each copulating male shown within adjacent, separate lines.

For CACs, N = 13 as shown in Fig 15.18 This file is confusing; Here is a good summary: If CUCorCAC = 5, then the copulation was a Critical ABOVEGROUND Copulation, and insemination presumably occurred (N = 13) If CUCorCAC <= 4, then the copulation was a Critical UNDERGROUND Copulation, and insemination presumably occurred (N = 228). As noted above, no information on either Nyanzol markers or eartags in this file. This file also contains confusing information on order of copulations vs CUC or CAC.

I do NOT use any of this latter information in either Hoogland 2026 or elsewhere. So, for Fig 15.18 for WTPDs, I have information on the length (duration) of the copulation for 13 CACs and 228 CUCs. File name = Fig 15.17, WTPDs, Duration of CUCs and CACs, 22 May 2026
