A traceable and extensible dataset of historical feed ingredient composition and nutritional values

This dataset integrates feed ingredient composition and nutritional-value records from 110 studies published between 2010 and 2023.
Description
Ingredient samples form the central entities linking study metadata, animal and experimental conditions, measurement methods, and source locations. The release contains 690 ingredient samples, 12,999 composition observations, and 7,248 nutritional-value observations, yielding 20,247 logical observations and 27,793 provenance records.
Data are provided as 110 editable Excel workbooks, CSV exchange tables, and a relational SQLite database, accompanied by an alias dictionary, a metric catalog, a data dictionary, bilingual Excel/JSON contribution templates, a source-literature reference table, and validation reports. All observations passed the current structural and data checks; metric, unit, and reporting-basis mappings are approved, and no canonical unit is missing.

Stable relational identifiers, source-level provenance, and a file-driven contribution workflow support direct querying, reproducible analysis, and controlled future extension.
