LISS Data Archive > The Guardianship Survey

Listed in ODISSEI Portal

In August 2011, the LISS panel was presented a questionnaire on guardianship, or the ability of ordinary citizens or lay-people to prevent the occurrence of crime.

Description

The study is aimed at being the first guardianship survey instrument of its kind that collects self-report data from potential guardians on the 3 established dimensions of active guardianship: availability (occupancy), monitoring (supervision), and intervention practices.

The questionnaire may be used as a benchmark for an international comparative survey on guardianship, for application of the instrument in the UK, Australia, and the US.
