Brunel Ducks Basketball Programme and Scoresheet 1980

<p dir="ltr"><b>Description: </b>Programmes for the Brunel Ducks Basketball team for the 1980 National Basketball Season in Britain including the programme for the Biactol International Basketball Tournament, and the Ducks' 11th October 1980 game against Nottingham.</p><p dir="ltr">The Brunel Ducks basketball were established in 1968 on the Uxbridge campus of Brunel University. With the 1972 formation of the National Basketball League in the UK, the Ducks moved into the Brunel gymnasium and became a major force in the Middlesex league, being the only university-run team to compete at this level.

They won a national league place in 1979 and won the Basketball League Championship in 1987. There was both a men's and women's basketball team at Brunel during the 1980s. The team's line-up included both Brunel students, international players, and members of the local community. </p><p dir="ltr">The Brunel Ducks were revived in 2014, spending much of their first season at the top of Division Four.</p><p dir="ltr">This material was kindly loaned to Brunel University Archives and Special Collections for digitisation by <b>John Kirkland</b>.
