Catalytic oxidation of alkenes

Listed in ZivaHub and Deakin Research Online and DMU Figshare — shown once because both records carry DOI 10.17034/32805893.v1

Oxidation reactions are among the most important transformations in synthetic chemistry.

Description

Simple olefins are inexpensive and readily available feedstocks for the production of oxygenated compounds, which are valuable as synthetic intermediates and commodity chemicals such as solvents and monomers. This thesis looks as new catalytic systems for the aerobic and peroxide-mediated oxidation of alkenes, using sustainable oxidants that generate only benign by-products, with the aim of developing efficient oxidation processes under mild conditions.

Thesis embargoed until 31st July 2028
