Tree occurrences in variously logged evergreen and deciduous forests of the Andaman Islands, India

The study examined the woody plant community in once-logged and twice-logged forests and compared logged vegetation to baseline forests (either unlogged or logged over 70 years ago). The data includes a nested plot design with three plots around a logged stump.

Pole-sized trees (1 to 10 cm girth), adult trees (>=10 cm girth) and large trees above logging girth (>=180 cm girth) were enumerated within a 10x10 m plot ("plot B") beside a logging stump, nested within a 50x10m plot ("plot A") in the direction of treefall, nested within a 70x70 m plot ("plot C") circumscribing the central treefall plot, respectively. In baseline forests, the plots were anchored around and beside a large tree above logging girth instead of a logged stump.
