Transcriptomic profile allows differentiation of symptomatic and asymptomatic tendons in human patients

Listed in NCBI GEO

The diagnostic differentiation of tendinopathies is not straightforward.

Description

Current clinical therapy regimes are similar for all tendons within in the body, irrespective of their anatomic location. This study strives to establish a discriminative pattern of genes to assist orthopaedic surgeons post-operatively in the choice of optimal treatment regimes.

Moreover, this study aims to identify molecular patterns that might in the future allow the conception of anatomic site-directed measures. Therefore, shoulder and hip tendons with highly prevalent pathologies were included as study materials.
