Temperature profile data collected using current meter, mooring, and thermistor casts from the Northwest Atlantic Ocean in part of the IDOE/POLYMODE (International Decade of Ocean Exploration / combination of USSR POLYGON project and US MODE) from 1977-06-12 to 1979-09-01 (NCEI Accession 8200246)

Temperature were collected using current meter, mooring, thermistor casts from the Northwest Atlantic Ocean from June 12, 1977 to September 1, 1979. Data were submitted by Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution as part of the IDOE/POLYMODE (International Decade of Ocean Exploration / combination of USSR POLYGON project). The file format is a F015 (Current Meter Data (Components)) and the full F015 format description can be found in nodc.noaa.gov/General/NODC-Archive/f015.html.

The F015 format is used for time series measurements of ocean currents. These data are obtained from current meter moorings and represent Eulerian method of current measurement, i.e., the meters are deployed at a fixed point and measure flow past a sensor. Position, bottom depth, sensor depth, and meter characteristics are reported for each station.
