Description
The difference in restricted mean survival time increases monotonically: 0.2 months at 6 months, 0.7 months at 12 months, 1.4 months at 18 months, and 2.1 months at 24 months. The 95% CI remains entirely above zero from approximately 4 months onward.
RMST analysis provides a model-free estimate that does not rely on the proportional hazards assumption. It is shown here for overall survival, which met the assumption (Schoenfeld <i>p</i> = 0.825). Two secondary outcomes did violate it (palliative care <i>p</i> = 0.032; venous thromboembolism <i>p</i> = 0.042; see <a href="plosmedicine.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pmed.1005262#pmed.1005262.s015" target="_blank">S5 Table</a>).</p> <p>(TIF)</p>
