Normal Modes of an Atmospheric Prediction Model

This technical report describes the derivation of the discrete normal modes of a grid point model developed at NCAR by Somerville and Shkoller.
Description
The work was completed September 1980. We would like to thank R. Somerville and B. Shkoller for discussions about their model and for assistance in accessing the model.
