North Carolina's sport betting system took effect on March 11, 2024.
Description
This dataset contains statewide revenue data broken out by the seven categories reported by the NC State Lottery Commission, which oversees sports betting. Data are reported monthly with a lag.
Operators paid 18% of their gross wagering revenues to the state each month through June 2026, rising to 23% starting in July 2026. The General Assembly determine how the tax proceeds are allocated. This state website summarizes the current allocation.
