Survey of Demographic and Economic Characteristics of the Aged

The agency conducted this survey to gain information on the socioeconomic status of the aged in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the Old-age, Survivors, Disability and Health Insurance (OASDHI) program, also known as Social Security.
Description
This series contains data from a survey population consisting of married couples with at least one spouse of age 65 or older and other individuals in that age group. Survey information includes demographic characteristics, living arrangements, income siz e and sources, pensions, employment, earnings, homeownership and financial assets.
