Survey on disinformation among social media users in BE, CH, DE, FR, UK, and US in 2020

This dataset consists of social media users (at least monthly) in Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland, the UK, and the US (N = 7,006).
Description
It is a representative sample for each of the countries based on age, gender, and education. The online survey includes an experimental part where we showed each participant three false claim stimuli (on Covid-19, climate change, migration) and varied the stimuli in an in-between subject design 2x2: Neutral vs. sensationalist style; Low vs. high amount of popularity cues (likes, reactions, shares, and comments).
The surveys in Switzerland were conducted in German language and in Belgium in Flemish language. We used Sosci-Survey to program the online survey.
