"Preliminary Study on Coal-Derived Substitute Carbon Black as a Rubber Filler: Associated Research Data"

Listed in ScienceDB

SEM: The microstructure morphology of the samples was observed using a JSM-7001F field emission scanning electron microscope manufactured by JEOL Ltd., Japan.

Description

The measurement conditions were an accelerating voltage of 10 kV. Prior to measurement, the samples were sputter-coated with gold under vacuum.XPS: The C 1s, O 1s, and N 1s spectra (which were relatively abundant in the samples) were acquired using a Thermo Scientific K-Alpha X-ray photoelectron spectrometer manufactured by Thermo Fisher Scientific, USA.

The obtained data were peak-fitted using Origin software. The relative contents of different functional groups were analyzed based on the percentage of peak areas.BET and pore size analysis: N₂ adsorption–desorption isotherms and pore structure analysis of the samples were performed using an ASAP 3030 fully automatic specific surface area and porosity analyzer manufactured by Micromeritics, USA. The samples were degassed at 150 °C for 6 hours.

The specific surface area and pore volume were calculated using the BET and DFT methods.XRD: The crystal structure of the samples was investigated using a MiniFlex 600 X-ray diffractometer manufactured by Rigaku Corporation, Japan. The measurement conditions were: Cu Kα radiation (λ = 0.15406 nm), tube voltage 40 kV, tube current 15 mA, scanning range 10°–80°, and scanning speed 10°/min.Raman: The degree of graphitization of the samples was tested using a Horiba laser Raman spectrometer (Japan) with a laser wavelength of λ = 532 nm.

The test results showed two characteristic peaks: the D peak and the G peak.FTIR: The surface functional groups of the samples were analyzed using a Nicolet iS50 Fourier transform infrared spectrometer manufactured by Nicolet (USA). The samples were prepared as KBr pellets with a sample-to-KBr mass ratio of 1:200. The measurement conditions were: 32 scans, resolution 4 cm⁻¹, and scanning range 400–4000 cm⁻¹.
