Moments of inertia of triaxial nuclei in covariant density functional theory
Listed in ScienceDB
Description
The covariant density functional theory (CDFT) and five-dimensional collective Hamiltonian (5DCH) are used to analyze the experimental deformation parameters and moments of inertia (MoIs) of 12 triaxial nuclei extracted by Allmond and Wood [J. M. Allmond and J. L. Wood, \href{doi.org/10.1016/j.physletb.2017.01.072}{Phys. Lett. B \textbf{767}, 226 (2017)}].
It is found that the CDFT MoIs are generally smaller than experimental values but show qualitative consistency with irrotational flow and experimental data for the relative MoIs, supporting that the intermediate axis has the largest MoI. It is further found that the collapse of pairing interaction can lead to the nuclei behave like a rigid-body flow as exhibited in the cases of \ce{^{186-192}Os}}.

In addition, by incorporating enhanced CDFT MoIs (a factor of $f\approx 1.55$) into 5DCH, the experimental low-lying energy spectra and deformation parameters are reproduced successfully. When contrasted with both the CDFT and the triaxial rotor model (TRM), the 5DCH demonstrates superior agreement with experimental deformation parameters and low-lying energy spectra, respectively. This emphasizes the importance of accounting for the shape fluctuations.
