The agency created and maintained this series to support its regulatory responsibilities prescribed by the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), as amended by the Hazardous and Solid Waste Amendments of 1984.
Description
The agency used the system to determine if hazardous waste was being handled according to Federal and state regulations on environmental quality. The series contains data on the generation and management of hazardous waste reported by Large Quantity Generators (LQGs) and Tre atment, Storage, and Disposal (TSD) facilities.
The data files include identification information such as the EPA identification number, location, mailing address, regulatory status, and data on site-wide waste minimization activities; information on the type and quantity of waste generated or shipped, and the management methods used in treatment, storage, or recycling; wastes received from off-site sources, and the methods used to handle such wastes; information describing the waste process system used by facilities; and waste minimization data.
