Using the SOFIA Technology and Operations Archive on DaRUS

The document focuses on the archive’s contents as well as on using DaRUS’s features to easily and securely locate documents based on specific search criteria. The main part of the archive consists of the technical documentation for the SOFIA (Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy) telescope.

This documentation was handed over to DLR (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt - German Aerospace Center) by the consortium of companies commissioned with the development and construction of the telescope, and describes the telescope in its entirety. However, other areas - such as the documentation of the “Critical Design Review” (CDR), which was conducted in collaboration with NASA, and other technical topics (e.g., QA documents) - are also covered.
