Characteristics of Business Owners Survey Summary Files

The agency prepared summary statistic files for researchers. This series provides basic summary data on the economic, demographic, and sociological characteristics of minority, women, and non-minority male business owners and their business activities.

Summary data are for four-digit Standard Industria l Classification code or eight industry divisions for the U.S. Summary data include the number of firms, owners, and receipts; ownership and operating status of business; age, marital status, veterans status, educational status, prior work and business experience of owner, personal income, and birthplace of owner; capital assets and acquisition of capital; home-based and franchise businesses; and percent of women and minority customers and employees.
