Description
This dataset contains all processed remote sensing raster products and statistical chart figures supporting the paper titled "Characterizing the Polarimetric Scattering Properties of ‘A‘ā and Pāhoehoe Lava Flows Using Dual-Polarimetric SAR Data". The core SAR dataset originates from ALOS PALSAR L-band dual-polarimetric Level 1.1 Single Look Complex (SLC) satellite data acquired on 8 November 2010 with the unique scene ID ALPSRP255200960, featuring HH and HV dual polarization modes.
All preprocessing workflows for the raw SAR imagery were implemented within the ESA SNAP software platform: the original SLC data underwent standard SAR preprocessing pipelines, followed by spatial cropping to the study area covering target ‘A‘ā and Pāhoehoe lava flow zones to obtain standardized raster layers. The core raster files packaged in the SAR data archive include two polarimetric covariance components and two customized RGB composite images.

Supplementary materials in the submission package also include multiple boxplots for statistical analysis of lava flow polarimetric scattering characteristics; these chart datasets contain quantitative statistical records of backscatter parameters for two lava types.
