De geinterviewde is geboren in 1925 in Nederland.
Description
In 1944 moest hij zich melden voor de Arbeitsdienst en dook toen onder. In 1946 kwam hij op voor militaire dienst in Assen.
In 1948 ging hij op de Tabinta naar Indie. Hij ontving weinig specifieke voorbereiding op de inzet. Hij werd ingedeeld bij 4-10 R.I. Hij vertelt over een benauwd vuurgevecht, patrouilles en de Tweede Politionele Actie.

In 1949 werd hij in het Bantamse ingezet. Hij vertelt over de toestand van de bevolking en later het weemoedige afscheid. De geinterviewde vertelt over briefwisselingen met het thuisfront en de souvereiniteitsoverdracht.
Deze overdracht ervoer hij als meest negatief. In 1950 keerde hij weer terug naar Nederland. De overgang naar het burgerbestaan ging soepel.
In de eerste instantie hield de geinterviewde geen contact met andere veteranen, maar later maakte hij actief deel uit van de reunieorganisaties.
