The dual roles of the TLR2/TLR4/NLRP3-H-PGDS-PGD2 axis in regulating the inflammatory response in E. coli-induced bovine bone marrow-derived macrophages and endometrial tissue

Antibiotic treatment for endometritis in dairy cows demonstrates some effectiveness; however, due to insufficient consideration of the underlying pathogenesis, these treatments do not significantly enhance cure rates or improve subsequent fertility in affected cows.
Description
Therefore, we focus on the pathogenesis of bovine endometrial diseases and the role of prostaglandin compounds in endometrial inflammation. In this study, E. coli-infected bovine bone marrow-derived macrophages were used as a model for endometritis in dairy cows.
We successfully isolated and characterized these macrophages and screened drug concentrations for treating endometritis, providing valuable evidence for developing novel veterinary therapies to improve endometritis's cure rate in dairy cows.
