NCEP MRF Back Trajectory Data for R/V Discoverer Transit

Listed in National Center for Atmospheric Research

This dataset contains Back trajectories for the R/V Discoverer.

Description

These trajectories were calculated with the NOAA HYSPLIT 3.2 code using the NMC Global Data Assimilation System Medium Range Forecast model (MRF). 9-day back trajectories are computed at 00Z and 12Z daily, originating at the ship with a source altitude of 100 m and an averaging period of 24 hrs. This dataset contains ASCII files which describe the latitude, longitude and pressure level of trajectory points.

A companion dataset contains gif images of each of these trajectories.
