The study was conducted in Cusco in 2022, which comprises 6871 observations collected along the districts of Challabamba, Colquepata, Huancarani, Paucartambo.
Description
A total number of 969 varieties were found in an in-situ study, followed by surveys among 351 farm-household. Using Survey123, we conducted a study to understand what potato varieties are in use across 27 Andean communities in southern Peru.
To determine the conservation status of cultivars we used the overall cultivar frequency (OCF). The OCF index is a measure of evenness. 972 varieties were registered to be the most representative Puka Huayro, Yana Cusi, Yana Maqtillo, Peruanita, and Muru Pitiquiña
