Three tuffisite veins in deposits from the 2008 eruption of Volcan Chaiten (Chile) were selected based on the similarity of their componentry.
Description
Individual components: nearly aphyric obsidian host, devitrified clasts, vesicular and dense vitric clasts and matrix were imaged using Scanning Electron Microscopy and Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy and analysed by Laser Induced breakdown Spectroscopy in tandem with Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry.
This database comprises the LIBS and ICP-MS data of these components.
