Insect Pollinator Collection Records from Four Protected Areas in Cameroon

Listed in GBIF

This dataset comprises records of insect pollinators sampled from four protected areas in Cameroon: Mount Cameroon National Park, Dja Faunal Reserve, Benoue National Park, and Campo Ma’an National Park.

Description

Sampling was conducted from April to December 2024 and from November 2025 to January 2026. The collection methods used included Malaise traps, yellow pan traps, pitfall traps, and sweep nets.

The dataset can be used in future studies for monitoring populations of these species within the protected areas, assess the effects of climate change on pollinator diversity and distribution, and support evidence-based decision-making for the conservation and management of these ecosystems in Cameroon. One specimen record from the order Hemiptera was also collected and included in the dataset as an opportunistic flower visitor.
