Bee and hoverfly inventory in the western region of the Democratic Republic of Congo (Luki Biosphere Reserve)

Listed in GBIF

At continental level, the lack of data on distribution and abundance characterizes wild pollinators in Africa, preventing any general assessment of their status.

Description

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, several regions have not yet been explored and pollinator data appear fragmentary, while some are still confined to grey literature. These data describe longitudinal sampling of bee and hoverfly communities in the Luki Biosphere Reserve in the DRC from 2021 to 2022 using three capture techniques (nets, coloured pantraps and horn traps).
