Supporting Simulation Dataset for Design of a 35 MeV Multi-Particle Cyclotron

Listed in ScienceDB

This dataset contains the supporting simulation data for the manuscript “Design of a 35 MeV Multi-Particle Cyclotron” (NST Manuscript ID: NST-2026-0409).

Description

All data were generated using a cyclotron simulation software developed in-house by our research group. The data production process involved first constructing the geometric model of the cyclotron magnet poles, then calculating the three-dimensional magnetic field distribution using the finite element method, and subsequently performing multi-particle (H⁻, D⁻, and α particles) orbit simulations with beam dynamics models that include modules for particle tracking, isochronism optimization, phase shift analysis, and emittance evolution.

Due to commercial confidentiality, only the non-confidential raw data corresponding to the key figures in the manuscript are disclosed, and all sensitive parameters have been removed. The dataset consists of 22 CSV files, listed in the order they appear in the paper. The content of each file and its corresponding figure(s) are as follows:1. Isochronous curves of D- without tuning.csv – isochronous curves of D⁻ ions before tuning (Fig.2)2. Isochronous curves of H- without tuning.csv – isochronous curves of H⁻ ions before tuning (Fig.2)3. Isochronous curves of D- with tuning.csv – isochronous curves of D⁻ ions after tuning (Fig.4a)4. Isochronous curves of H- with tuning.csv – isochronous curves of H⁻ ions after tuning (Fig.4a)5. Integrated phase shift curves_D-.csv – integrated phase shift curves for D⁻ ions (Fig.4b)6. Integrated phase shift curves_H-.csv – integrated phase shift curves for H⁻ ions (Fig.4b)7. MId-plane magnetic field.csv – mid-plane magnetic field distribution (Fig.8)8. axial magnetic field.csv – axial magnetic field distribution (Fig.9)9. particle trajectory tracked backward.csv – ideal deceleration equilibrium orbit (Fig.15)10.

BetaGamma_35M.csv – beam dispersion parameters at 35MeV (Fig.27c)21. beta_Straight-edge magnetic pole_allData.csv – beta factor data for the straight-edge magnetic pole configuration (supplementary analysis for Fig.25)22. beta_Symmetrical magnetic pole_allData.csv – beta factor data for the symmetrical magnetic pole configuration (supplementary analysis for Fig.24)In all tabular data, the row labels typically correspond to the radial position or the time step, while the column labels include physical quantities such as magnetic field strength (unit: T), phase (unit: degrees), and energy (unit: MeV); the specific units are indicated in the first row comments or column names of each file.

There are no missing data; every file contains a complete set of simulation results.Since the data originate from numerical simulations rather than experimental measurements, there are no measurement errors. However, the numerical calculations themselves are influenced by factors such as mesh resolution and iterative convergence thresholds, which may lead to magnetic field errors on the order of 10⁻⁵. These errors do not affect the qualitative conclusions or design specifications presented in the paper. The CSV files are in a universal format and can be opened with any text editor or data analysis software (e.g., Excel, Python’s pandas library, MATLAB).
