Comparative RNA seq analysis of Salmonella Typhimurium and pimt gene deletion strain

Listed in NCBI GEO

Inside the host, Salmonella Typhimurium suffers but survives various stresses.

Description

Proteins are the prime targets of host inflammatory responses. S. Typhimurium encodes two key protein repair enzymes, methionine sulfoxide reductase (Msr) and protein iso-aspartate methyltransferase (PIMT), that reactivates damaged proteins without their translational synthesis.

Under stress, the accumulation of L-isoaspartate (Iso-asp) residues causes defects in protein shape and function, which lead to impaired bacterial survival. To examine the global transcriptional consequences of deleting pimt gene, RNA sequencing was performed on S. Typhimurium and Δpimt mutant strains. This dataset provides a comprehensive transcriptomic resource for investigating the impact of pimt deletion on virulence and pathogenicity in S. Typhimurium.
