MUC21 is downregulated in oral squamous cell carcinoma and associated with poor prognosis

Listed in NCBI GEO

The role of MUC21 in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) remains unexplored.

Description

Microarray data of 10 paired OSCC and adjacent normal oral mucosae (para-OSCC) from this study and datasets from GEO and TCGA RNA-seq were analyzed to screen out differentially expressed genes including MUC21 which was further validated by qRT-PCR. the impact of expression changes of MUC21 on OSCC was retrospectively studied by clinical data, MUC21 immunohistochemistry data from a cohort of patients.

In vitro OSCC cell lines experiments were also conducted to further verify the results.
