Choroid plexus inflammation in bipolar disorder

Listed in NCBI GEO

Postmortem human choroid plexus tissue from individuals with bipolar disorder and matched controls was analyzed using cytokine protein arrays and bulk RNA sequencing to characterize immune and barrier-related alterations.

Description

The study identifies increased pro-inflammatory signaling and reduced trophic/supportive pathways, implicating the choroid plexus as a neuroimmune interface in bipolar disorder.
