Tick epidermal growth factor receptor-like protein can be targeted to prevent arthropod development

Listed in NCBI GEO

To understand the role of Ixodes scapularis Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor, bulk RNA sequencing was performed of whole fed nymphal Ixodes scapularis ticks, that were silenced for either GFP (control) or EGFR by RNA interference with double-stranded RNA.

Description

Several pathways were found to be downregulated in EGFR-silenced ticks, including pyrimidine metabolism and DNA replication, as well as differential regulation of metabolic pathways.
