Placenta gene expression postdevelopmental exposure to perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) or hexafluoropropylene oxide-dimer acid (HFPO-DA or GenX) in CD-1 mice

Listed in NCBI GEO

Multiple per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) have been associated with adverse pregnancy and birth outcomes in humans and animals.

Description

While the underlying mechanism(s) through which exposure to PFAS may induce these adverse pregnancy and birth outcomes is not known, it has been posited that the placenta may be an important target and/or mediator. We performed whole-transcriptome gene expression analysis to investigate the molecular mechanisms underpinning the effects on placental health after prenatal exposure to two different PFAS, perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and its replacement, hexafluoropropylene oxide-dimer acid (HFPO-DA, commonly referred to as GenX).

This dataset is derived from sequencing of the same animals that were reported in GSE199233.
